WOMEN & COMMUNITY

The most important thread in being a woman is community. It’s is even the name; Womanhood. More than one woman. Women need one another to go through life and go through it properly. I wouldn’t say being a woman is easy but there’s so much to love about it. There is so much to experience and to experience properly.

It can be hard to be woman along the way because of certain anomalies. Harassment at the top of the list, prejudice, unequal pay, medical misogyny et al. As much as these things cannot be solved immediately or alone, they can be carried and eradicated with a group effort and that is where community comes in. Anyone can go through almost anything as long as they do not have to do it alone.
The greatest enemy women face that threads all the obstacles mentioned above is fear and it should not be felt alone. No man is an island. Theories of detaching oneself from those around them might not be the best when a person is going through difficulties. Surely sometimes one may need to step back from depending on people so that they do not take you for granted but it should pointed out that innately good people can take you for granted.

Another angle is growth. When you’re on a journey or trying to further your knowledge on something the most part of it will be done alone because life is very unprecedented so no one will tackle what’s in front of you like you. Community however also helps you to track your growth by identifying struggle and solutions, so and so. In growth and fear, struggles are shared and valid. Shared and Valid, key words. Community does not need to be in massive numbers it just needs to be comforting. Three people, One Hundred, all okay.

Finally, in the face of doubt. It never hurts to not feel alone. Community does not need to be in massive numbers it just needs to be comforting. Three people, One Hundred, they’re all okay. In the face of doubt. It never hurts to not feel alone. To every woman who will come across this, aspire to be threads in a dress. Holding each other.
